Monitors
Set up continuous AI brand monitoring and get real-time alerts when your brand is added, removed, or displaced across any tracked AI engine.
Overview
Monitors run your tracked prompts on a continuous cadence across all selected AI engines and compare each response against the last known baseline. When a change is detected — your brand added, removed, or displaced by a competitor — you receive an alert with the full response diff.
Monitors eliminate the need to manually trigger visibility runs to stay current. Brand shifts in AI search happen quickly; monitors ensure you know about them before the downstream revenue impact reaches your analytics.
Creating a Monitor
- Navigate to Monitors → New Monitor.
- Give the monitor a name (e.g. "Core category prompts — all engines").
- Select the prompt set to monitor:
- Individual prompts
- A prompt cluster (e.g. "informational intent")
- Your full corpus
- Select the AI engines to include.
- Configure alert conditions (see below).
- Add alert channels (email, Slack, webhook).
- Click Activate.
Alert Conditions
Control when AIEO sends an alert by setting conditions:
| Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| Any change | Alert on any difference in brand mention status for any prompt |
| Brand added | Alert only when your brand appears in a response where it previously didn't |
| Brand removed | Alert only when your brand disappears from a response where it previously appeared |
| Competitor introduced | Alert when a tracked competitor appears in a response for the first time |
| Sentiment shift | Alert when the tone of brand characterisation changes (positive → neutral/negative) |
| Threshold-based | Only alert when changes affect more than N prompts or exceed a percentage change |
Combining conditions reduces noise. For example: "brand removed OR competitor introduced" is a high-signal filter that catches displacement events without alerting on every minor response variation.
Alert Channels
Monitors can send alerts to:
- Email — one or more addresses per monitor
- Slack — paste an incoming webhook URL from your Slack workspace
- Webhook — any HTTP endpoint; AIEO sends a JSON payload with the change details, diff, and engine metadata
Configure channels from Settings → Integrations or directly on the monitor creation form.
Response Diffs
Every time a monitor detects a change, AIEO stores a full before/after diff of the AI response. In the monitor's change log you can see:
- The exact text that changed
- Which brand(s) were added or removed
- The engine and timestamp of the change
- A link to the full prompt detail in the Prompts explorer
Diffs are retained for 12 months.
Historical Change Log
The change log for each monitor shows every alert that has fired, in reverse chronological order. Use it to:
- Review the history of brand displacement events in your category
- Spot patterns (e.g. a competitor consistently gains ground on weekends or after product launches)
- Share a timeline of AI visibility changes with stakeholders
Monitor Cadence
Monitors run on a default cadence of every 24 hours. You can adjust cadence per monitor:
| Plan | Available cadences |
|---|---|
| Starter | Daily (24h) |
| Growth | Every 12h or daily |
| Pro | Every 6h, 12h, or daily |
Higher-frequency monitors consume more run credits. Current usage is shown in Settings → Usage.
